hey again.

ok so. for the past 4 or 5 months i have been into one band that i should probably have gotten into a lot earlier...but alas i didnt. this band happens to be the foo fighters. i normally dont watch you tube very often...but on a thursday night when you have nothing to do...it seems like a good idea. so i thought to myself...what should i search for. foo fighters. so i start watching their videos and i have seen them before..but i dont think i appreciated them before. as i was watching them i realized how genius some where. others not as good...but most all around good. i think that you should totally check some of them out if you havent seen them...my original plan was to just put the video up from you tube to here...but the guys who have all the videos have the "embedding disabled by request." which means they wont let me put them here without their permission. fuck that. so i will just put the links to my favorite videos in hopes that you might also like them.

this video is great because it is completely opposite of what i think of when i listen to the song. but somehow it totally fits and its hilarious.

the acting dave grohl does in this video is perfect. he plays five different characters. a flight attendant. the pilot. a fat lady. himself. and a giddy little girl. every character is funny. oh and it is also great because of the guest appearance by jack black and kg at the beginning.

there are plenty more awesome ff videos where those came from but i dont want to push...just watch these four and then if you want watch more...believe me their good...and if you dont like the music...well then just turn it down and watch the video. or do none of that. who the fuck am i.

ok so that is my ff ramble. just a couple more things. first i received the new loved ones record today in the mail. it is entitled build and burn. i have listened to it four or five times now and i like it. i dont love it. but i think it is good and solid. a couple of my favorite songs are...the inquirer and louisiana. but all the songs are solid. i am happy that i preordered it. if you are thinking of buying it and you listen to vinyl than you should buy the 12" because it comes with a free cd too. yeah. and only ten bucks. fuck yeah. cant go wrong.

i am pretty bummed on tomorrow and the next day. if you know me then you know why. so i wont go into too much detail. but i will just say rest in peace tom. you will be missed.

with saying that. i am going to go to bed and watch something that will raise my spirits some. probably rad! or star wars.

SAD 35...2 hour delay

hello again.

whats up. i woke up and saw snow on my skylight today. though i was going to have a snow day. but i didnt. that sucked. tuesdays and thursdays i only have one class so its not too bad anyway. i know i said i wasnt going to talk too much about school..but i was thinking last night...do i really want to be a history teacher....and i answered to myself...yes....but do i really want to do that forever or right when i get out of school...and my answer to that was no...but that is to be expected. it was then when i started looking at academic programs at usm that might strike my fancy. nothing caught my eye at first...but then i saw international studies....i clicked and read and it sounded interesting...so i emailed the professor and now i have an appointment with her to see if it would make sense for me to do....i hope it works out....but if not i can always be a history teacher...maybe.

well i took a look around my room today and realized that some of my best friends probably havent seen my room in months or even years...and for you who kinda know me...you probably have never seen it...so i took a few pictures of my room....but first a little background info on my room...my father built this addition onto my house when i was one year old and for years it was our family room...seeing many christmas trees..birthday parties..and mindless acts of my friends and i....a few years ago my dad had this idea to turn "the addition" as we call it..into a small apartment to make some extra cash....never ended up finishing it...but it does come fully equipped with a kitchenette...bathroom...woodstove...and now a bunch of my worthless shit....here it is.

My very own blog...

hello...

...i am smash matt, formerly known as...just...matt. everyone who may or may not be reading this is probably one of my friends or acquaintances....so i dont feel the need to describe myself in detail. i've been getting bored lately and feel i need to give myself one more worthless thing to do on the internet...so here it is.

i am currently being distracted from my agonizingly boring economics homework...and thats fine with me. i am taking four classes this semester at the university of southern maine. economics, latin american history, art history, and español. for you who knew me in high school...you may be asking yourself...why the fuck is he still taking spanish? well if i am going to become an intellectual left wing sweater-vest over my plaid shirt wearing history professor...i gotsta take the spanish. but i am pleased to say that i am learning a hell of a lot more spanish now than i ever did in high school...which rules. i am getting a lot of help from a certain genius...but thats fine. so thats how my schooling is going thus far…but i wont talk much more about that because it sucks.

well…this concludes my first post in my first blog…oh yeah...i almost forgot...today is my mom's birthday. word.
